In March I had the pleasure of spending an afternoon with Livia at her studio on Thistle Street, Edinburgh. Livia perfected her craft in her hometown, Basel, and is now based in the fashionable New Town of Edinburgh, creating stunning pieces of jewellery that are always handmade from start to finish.

Last year Livia, who previously worked alongside another Goldsmith, took over the atelier and has truly made it her own. Livia enjoys the traditional craft of goldsmithing, employing techniques from over two hundred years ago to create jewellery with the most beautiful characteristics and of the best, longest-lasting quality.

I enjoyed taking Livia’s portrait and capturing the serenity of the workshop. The photos below were taken on 35mm film and will be used for marketing purposes.
